§1 The hirer shall receive the bicycle in a technically perfect, roadworthy and clean condition. Defects must be reported immediately.
§2 We only rent out our bikes on presentation of an identity card or driving licence and a security deposit of 50.00 euros in cash. This deposit will be refunded upon proper return of the bike.
§3 The renter undertakes to handle the bike with care so that the next renter also receives a bike in perfect condition. Any damage to the bicycle must be reported immediately and the costs incurred for repairing the damage must be borne by the renter.
§4 Payment of the hire charge and ancillary services shall be made in cash on site
§5 The current rental prices are available on our homepage and displayed in our bike shop. The rental prices include taxes and duties.
§6 A deposit of 20% of the total rental amount is due for bookings made up to four weeks before the start of the holiday. For reservations made up to two weeks before the start of the holiday, a deposit of 50% of the total rental amount is due. You will receive the details for the transfer to our business account when you make your reservation. The payment will not be refunded in the event of non-fulfilment by the tenant.
§7 In the event of cancellation of a reservation six weeks prior to fulfilment of the service, 50% of the rental costs, at least 30.00 euros, will be charged. If a reservation is cancelled within four weeks before the service is to be provided, 100% of the rental costs will be charged.
§8 In the period from 1 March to 30 April, the minimum rental period for racing bikes is 5 days. Rental extensions are only possible in consultation with micobike.
§9 If the hire is cancelled, e.g. due to bad weather, illness, unwillingness or other reasons, no money will be refunded.
§10 Theft of the bicycle is not insured. Damage to the bicycle due to gross negligence or wilful damage shall be borne in full by the renter and is not insured. Participation in bicycle races or race-like sporting events is only permitted with the express written consent of micobike.
§11 The hirer undertakes to secure the bike with a lock at all times. At night the bike must be parked in a secure, lockable room. In the event of loss of the bike, the hirer must pay the replacement value of the bike as well as a flat-rate contribution to the loss of rent amounting to 2 weeks' rent, calculated according to the valid rental prices for the full 2 weeks following the loss event.
§12 micobike shall not bear any costs for any repairs carried out in external workshops during the hire period
§13 The retained deposit will be refunded upon return of the bike in clean condition, including all accessories. If a very dirty bike is returned, €10 may be retained for cleaning.
§14 micobike is not liable for damage caused to the renter or third parties through the use of the bike. The use and sporting activity and participation in guided tours and training sessions with the bicycle is at the renter's own risk. micobike expressly rejects any claim for compensation.
§15 It is expressly recommended that hirers take out liability insurance.
§16 The rental period for one day is from 9.00 a.m. in the morning until 6.00 p.m. in the evening. If the bike is not returned by the end of the rental period, we reserve the right to charge the full daily rental price.
§17 Helmets are compulsory in Spain. We ask all renters to wear a helmet to protect themselves from head injuries and to comply with the Spanish Highway Code.
§18 Any disputes arising from this contract shall be subject to the application of Spanish law and the jurisdiction of the Spanish courts, unless there are mandatory provisions to the contrary.
